CORECTIONS - INTERFACES

On friday 19-3-10 we had our group meeting again from 1pm-5pm again with some feedback of my tutor I have corrected some of mistakes in the network architecture description. However I have to add screenshots of interface website in order to be easily the understanding. With cooperation of Alex who is doing the interfaces forms,we have design a draft of the main website and the sub-sites of the SQS company.I feel more OK with my work as the tutor was quite happy and the developed was appropriate.In the next meeting we shall add all the work together and we will check wherever each work match or not,doing the appropriate corrections.

Network architecture update(description of hardware usage and proccess)

I have updated the network architecture because of some very useful feedback I got from my tutor. However I have write the explanation of the network(on what each specific hardware,LAN and WAN do and how).

The network as it is now


The changes that I have done was on one of the workstation( South East )must located into the main office in Elephant and castle.South East workstation can connect directly to the LAN as it is faster and is based in the same building and not via private WAN through the router which is slower.What is more staff can interact with the system on-the-go,using their phones.This could happen after they access into the internet and sign in with their usernames and passwords into the company server).

Second group meeting for CISD assessment report No2

Yesterday we had a meeting again. Everybody were happy with the new network that I had design so we have start searching for our company servers.(type-specifications) We found the most appropriate servers for our network by looking their specifications and their cost as our company is a medium business which afterwards will be expanded.

The serves of our network so far:

Backup server: Dell Equal logic PS6000 XV ISCSI Array

Application Server: Dell power Edge M905 Blade server

Direct Server: Dell PowerConnect PC 3548

Architecture:

Applications + Data server (cluster architecture)

Backup Server (multicomputer architecture)

However we started the description of the network and we have finished the connection protocol part.

Network Design

When I saw the network we had designed, for a second time I realized that it was wrong, so because I am the person who must design the network for the next meeting I decided to design my own one according to the book SYSTEM ANALYSIS & DESING IN A CHANGING WORLD page 338. Below is the network diagram that I have designed in my pc. Again is not fully complete because we need to decide what software it must run the database server, the workstations PC and the web/application server. On the other hand the bellow network, in my opinion has the correct network architecture.

First group meeting. CISD assessment report No2

First group meeting for CISD assessment report No2

Yesterday 19 February our group had done the first meeting .Everybody were present and everything gone right

We divided the work task as it is below

Christos and Dhanush:

    • Major systems components
    • Network architecture
    • Applications architectures

Carl and Alex:

    • Database Architecture
    • A set of database tables
    • A set of appropriate interfaces for key users

Meeting duration: 2.00-4.30

Decisions: We all have done a brainstorm about major components of our system and network architecture. We came across some networks designs and finally with the feedback of our tutor we draw a final one. However we decided our group name which is KOLOSSOS.

Event tables again........

The report is getting more complicated instead of being easier. I have found more and more incorrectly created things in my assignment .For instance the event table has to be separate for each stakeholder and not used in the use cases in one table. It took me many hours until i corrected it!i created 4 separate event tables until now for customer,valuer,vendor and office staff. Hopefully these would be my last event tables because I have recently been told of the correct way of writing the report from my lecturer.
